Coolish Tuesday-The Many Faces of Mo

The weather outside is incredibly pleasant.  It's sunny, with a slight breeze, and the weather indicator on my laptop says its 60degreesF.  It's 8 am and Ive already had my breakfast, Ramen noodles with some leaves of fresh spinach dropped in it.

 Tues 2023 Sept 26 The exciting news is that well known author John Irving is coming to Iowa to speak at Hancher Auditorium in Iowa City next month.  Even better news, all of the seats are free because the University hosts a free lecture series and this is one of them.    The bad news is that as of today, Sept 26, all of the seats are "sold out".  A pox upon those who just told me about it and got me all excited about attending.  Irving is scheduled to give his lecture on Friday the 13th, in October.  My poor luck. What's Up: Nebraska City, Manhattan Short Film Festival

 I woke up at 4 am and laid in bed until 5.  Then I decided to get up.  I have a slight headache and my eyes are burning a little.  The temperature on the homescreens of my phone and laptop says 63 degrees outside.  It is 77 degrees in the room.  I got dressed and read my e-mail and a chapter from my current book.  I'm not hungry.   Now I'm tired and a contemplating going back to bed.  It is Wednesday, the middle of the week and early October.  Surprisingly not many leaves have turned yet even though the peak Autumn day is usually around the 15th.  The poor trees get so confused with the atypical weather patterns.  I filled out an automated appeal letter written to Joe Biden from the Sierra Club asking for him to support the replacement of city trucks with environmentally friendly trucks, not running on fossil fuels.  I don't know what our congressman think of receiving automated letters the sender merely has to click...

Under Glass

202308270531 This morning I grabbed my laptop and noticed it is much lighter.  This is one major clue that tells me somebody has been in my room and changed it out.  It probably happened when I went out for a walk last night.  Sometimes I notice the laptop is much heavier and other times much lighter.  Other things such as the display or the functionality lets me know they have been in to change out my laptop.  I'm not sure if is to copy the hard drive, alter the functionality, or collect the keystroke data. The display on my laptop screen is being used to ruin my eyesight.  First I discovered an unusually high glare coming from the screen that strained my eyes.  When I tried to alter the intensity it did not help.  I also noticed a blurriness and thought it was my eyes.  Later I realized that the screen was deliberately being altered so that the letters appeared blurry--another way to increase the strain on my eyes.  I discovered that i...
